Nov 30, 2017     First day of rivets!!!! - (2 hours)       Category: Empennage
Wahoo! Besides the ones done on the rudder at the workshop, this is my first rivets pulled on the plane horizontal stabilizer (basically on my own in my own shop). I did the first 4 or so with the manual puller then said "Hey, what the heck, this give this here new pneumatic puller a whirl!" And it was goooood. Hehe. All kidding aside, it went well thus far. My only wonder is how to get the head of either of the pneumatic or manual riveter up against the upper rear of the rear spar in order to get those rivets seated. The heads of the riveters are pretty thick and the upper flange on the rear spar is in the way....hmmm....
